Complex Tooth Extractions
Some teeth can be particularly difficult to remove due to their position, root shape, previous treatment or surrounding bone.
Our oral surgery service provides management of complex extractions, including teeth that are:
- Heavily broken down or extensively restored
- Impacted or partially erupted
- Difficult to access
- Associated with complex root anatomy
- Previously root-treated or surgically challenging
Where required, surgical techniques can be used to remove the tooth while aiming to minimise trauma to the surrounding tissues.
Surgical Removal of Wisdom Teeth
Impacted or problematic wisdom teeth may require surgical removal when they are causing pain, recurrent infection, decay, gum problems or other complications.
Each case is carefully assessed, with appropriate imaging used to understand the position of the tooth and its relationship to surrounding structures before treatment.
Management of Complex Cases
Our oral surgery service can also assist with more challenging surgical presentations where conventional extraction or treatment may not be appropriate.
Treatment planning may involve detailed radiographic assessment, including 3D CBCT imaging where clinically indicated, to assess anatomy and minimise surgical risk.
